Mission Belize Update

And so the story began.

Last Sunday we had our first convert at the church and the glory of God continues to spill all over the congregation.

We are actively praying for resources, for a great need has become present, as we have a group of brethren who need a home church, but they are a few miles away, and transport need to be arranged for them to make it to church three times a week.

But with the need has come the opportunity, and we have found a 16 seats minibus in amazing conditions which we can purchase for just two thousand dollars.

Our hopes are that the Lord will make provision for this purchase, so we can provide transport for this group.

And as doors continue to open, we continue to give thanks to the almighty God for his timely provision.

At the moment our plans to start a chicken pen are taking shape, for we have found someone to provide the sheets we need, and someone else to provide the wood, and even a third person has provided the nails and screws for the construction of the chicken coop.

The land is almost clean, the fence is in place, and the next step is to get a few chicks and start experimenting.

We have even found a way to manufacture a home made incubator.

Our intentions are to produce the eggs and meat, to offer free breakfast to 100 children every Saturday morning initially; an ambitious project indeed for a city couple who just five weeks ago were praying for clarification. Yet only God will limit the scope of this vision.

But the future looks promising, opportunities are many. And the urge to keep on doing is insatiable. We just need to take it slow and pray a lot, so that every step we take has the stamp of approval of the Lord of all wonders.

But one of the Members of the church has made available a 30 acres piece of land, for the potential growth of corn and beans and other vegetables. This is a more long term project, but lots of hungry families will potentially be fed through it.

We do need to appeal to the heart of every person who reads this page, to consider becoming a sponsor of this program, for the needs are many, and without resources none of these programs can take place.

Choosing Obedience!

Ordination in San BartolomeOrdination in AhuachapanWe could have chosen to follow our drive, our impulses, our desire to advance quickly and to do great things for the Lord, we could have chosen to reunite thousands of Pastors, and to create a great movement which would have made us look good in the eyes of the world, and this would have made us proud of our accomplishment, and we would have probably been thanking the Lord for His demonstration of power and his faithfulness, yet if we had taken these steps these would not have been the steps of the Lord.
We had the opportunity to register mighty churches in our program, and to bring renowned Ministers and church organization to unite with us, and this would have probably created a momentum which would have drawn the attention of rich supporters willing to pay our way towards success. Yet this would not have been the will of God but the will of men.
Instead we chose to follow God’s lead, to listen to His voice and to obey Him faithfully.

God's Glory in Central America

Conferencia para Damas March 2010After nine days of glory, we are back from Guatemala, where the Lord has poured out his spirit as a categorical confirmation of his purpose in this marvelous journey.

Nine days of intense work, extreme preaching, and where miracles of healing, liberation restoration and salvacion were the patterns at hand.

On day one we visited the dangerous Zone 3 in Guatemala city, where the rules of the law do not often apply. The Church pastored by brother Miguel Lux Chach gave us a taste of things to come, as in a powerful presence, the Holy Spirit moved amongst the congregation, bringing a new anointing, and liberation and restoration to many.

Medicine for the soul!

A broken soul is not a thing to be walking around with; we pretend to be living a wonderful life, while we live like zombies in a world designed to keep us mindful of the next thing to come, of the next opportunity, the next fashion the next movie, the next show, the next season, the next sports attraction, leading us to forget the reason why we are on this earth. And most importantly what things truly matter the most.

The world system has been designed to portray in one scene after another, a set  of distracting patterns to keep our souls floating in a concoction of illusions that fill us with fabricated happiness, and in processing so many of these patterns, we don’t have time to wake up. One after another the system keeps feeding us with stuff, stuff purposed to train us, like robots, to consume, behave, and act according to a program, and the induced thoughts we process daily, are designed to make us “better citizens, better consumers, better puppets”. Buy Gucci; visit Disney, drink coke, think Microsoft. Every one of our senses is being fed consistently with suggestive messages, designed to train our thoughts, to guide us in a preset direction. And the best part of this is; we buy it!

Why do I do what I do?

As they headed to school this morning, my children frowned and complained that I will not be here tomorrow morning to give then a kiss and a hug on their way out.

My children and I have a set of routines which have become habitual. Every morning I send them out to school at the door, every night around eight PM we get together for their devotional, every night I lead them to bed in prayer, and each one of those activities is a part of the warm and ever rewarding joy of parenthood, but most importantly it is a part of who we are and the love we give each other constantly.
I could not get away with not doing any of these things daily, because when it is time to do them my kids will find me around the house and whatever I am doing a the time has to be stopped until we have finished with them.
